2394 Mariner Square Drive, Alameda, CA
Welcome to Barnhill Marina, a charming community of floating homes in the Alameda-Oakland Estuary. A Community of diverse and environmentally conscious residents.
This home was custom built in 1972 on a wood/fiberglass hull. In 2017, this home, along with other similar homes in Barnhill Marina, were towed to Svendsen Boat Works for refurbishment.
The floor plan of this home consists of two level, three decks, one with a 360 degree panoramic view. The oak floors throughout add a warmth that is only exceeded by the invisibly lighted open truss ceiling on the second level.
First level: Two bedrooms and full bath (shower over tub) on this level. The main bedroom with its double Dutch Doors opens to its private deck. The second room may be used as a guest bedroom, office, or hobby room. Sstained-glass windows adorn all the rooms on this level.
Second level: Accessed by a full-sized oak stairway, the upper level will impress you with its pleasing design and exposed ceiling trusses. Sunny and bright this is truly a wonderful open space that combines the living and dining areas, and the newly remodeled kitchen. The double French doors open to a deck offering a intimate spot.
Further up, you will be awed by the third deck with its 360 degree view of the area – you can see all the way to San Francisco on a clear day! Of course, Oakland, its hills, as well as Alameda are always within view.
For individuals who love water sports, kayaking, paddle-boarding or canoeing, this is an ideal spot.
For those not inclined to water sports, biking a short distance can take riders to the nearby restaurants and shops of Alameda Landing. Go a little farther to the U.S.S. Hornet, at Alameda Point (the Point). The Point, as well as being developed by the City of Alameda, has seen a gradual increase of artisan distilleries, wineries, breweries and tasting rooms along Monarch Street -- now referred to as "Spirits Alley". All this, and the new Ferry Terminal, at the Seaplane Lagoon, is within a bike ride from your front door.
