The Hindu Religious Center of Northwest
Indiana, also known as the Indian American Cultural Center(IACC) or Bharatiya
Temple, has long been a spiritual, cultural, and social anchor for the
Indian American community in the region.
Northwest Indiana is home to a vibrant and
growing Indian American community. Over the decades, first-generation
immigrants and their families have built a close-knit and supportive
environment grounded in shared culture, values, and service.
What began as a small group of families has
now grown into a vibrant, intergenerational community committed to preserving
cultural heritage while embracing progress. Our center offers a space where
families come together to celebrate festivals, perform rituals, host milestone
events, and engage in educational and charitable activities.
With deep pride in our roots, we also look
to the future and are actively working to expand our facilities. Planned
projects include a dedicated activity center for youth and seniors,
a community canteen to foster social connection, and a yagshala,
an open-air pavilion for sacred rituals.
As part of our fundraising efforts and
cultural outreach, we are honored to present the musical event “Bollywood
and Beyond” featuring two iconic legends—Dr. L. Subramaniam and Kavita
Krishnamurti—on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Hard Rock Casino. This
unique evening will blend musical mastery with community spirit.
