About this Venue

ADA Accessibility

All lower level lobbies (A-E) are accessible and elevators are available in all lobbies for access to levels two and three. Access to the Hilton Hotel is available via the sky bridges on levels two and three. View the GRB Floor Plans for all ADA entrances.

Audio/PA System

An overhead public address system is available with ambient control. Acoustic ceiling treatment enhances sound quality. Located in all Exhibit Halls, they may be operated separately, in pairs or combined.

Floor Load Limits

1,000 lbs. per sq. ft in Halls A, B, C, D & E. 400 lbs. per sq. ft in Halls A3 & B3, the Grand Ballroom and General Assembly, on Level 3.

Food Service

A full-service kitchen and 250-seat cafe is available. Themed food stations, bars and cafes can be added throughout the facility to meet the individual needs of each client.

Freight Access

42 drive-up docks with 29 freight doors on Level One, and 24 drive-up docks with 10 freight doors on Level Three. Each Exhibit Hall contains at least one drive-in access door; Halls A & E have side drive-in access as well as rear doors. Drive-in doors serving Halls A, B, D, & E are 14’H X 24’W, and the drive-in door serving Hall C is 14’H X 30’W. Side drive-in doors for Halls A & E are 25’H X 30’W. Level Three drive-in doors for Halls F & G are both 19’ X 30’W.

Freight Elevators

11 elevators of varying dimensions; (3) with 20,000 lbs. load limit and (8) with 12,000 lbs. load limit. Contact your Event Coordinator for elevator dimensions in your Hall. Lighting Control of all Exhibit Hall lighting is zoned to four intermediate levels of illumination. Illuminations levels of 12, 25, 50 and 100-foot candle are available by multi-level switching. Color corrected metal halide down lighting is standard with additional quartz emergency lighting. Additional spot lighting for exhibits or events is available from our Audio Visual Department.

Parking

There is surface and covered garage parking and for approximately 3,000 cars. The convention center and the Hilton Americas-Houston hotel share a connected 1,600-car parking garage.

Telephone

A digitally controlled telephone system providing software features including High-Speed T-1 Internet Access, Web-Casting from show floor, Pre-Wired Fiber-Optic Cabling Backbone, T-Span, 56k Data Circuits, and Voiceover “IP.” In addition, six instruments can be installed at each utility box. An exhibition account may be set up for each exhibitor with automatic billing available at checkout. Full-time, on-site tech support.

What are the parking options at George Brown Convention Center?

Parking is available in Lots A, B, F, G, H & I. Prices range from $5 to $30 depending on the event. Suite & VIP parking there is located on the south side of the building via the 2nd 183A Entrance, past the marquee. All methods of payment are accepted at George Brown Convention Center for all self-park & valet lots.
When is the box office open in George Brown Convention Center?

Regular Hours - Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, weekend hours vary per event. For event box office hours, please visit George Brown Convention Center event tickets can be purchased through Sulekha.
Are children allowed George Brown Convention Center?

Ticket Requirements: For all ticketed events, all George Brown Convention Center patrons must present a ticket for entry, except for those patrons younger than two (2) years of age. However, children under two years of age must sit on the lap of an accompanying ticket-bearing adult. For some family/kids events ages, one (1) and up must be accompanied by a ticket.

Can I get an autograph or meet the artist in George Brown Convention Center?

The George Brown Convention Center, as a rental facility, is not in a position to contact or interfere with artist or artist management regarding autographs or special meet and greet requests. From time to time, artist management will arrange these opportunities, and if available, the George Brown Convention Center will include that as part of standard event information.
Can I take event photos or videos in George Brown Convention Center?

The use of photographic or sound recording devices, including film and digital cameras, digital video recorders, cell phones, and/or other visual or audio recording devices is a violation of copyright law and is strictly prohibited. Patrons using these devices during a performance may be asked to leave the theatre. No refunds will be issued. In certain instances, patrons may be asked to delete photographs.

In addition, light and noise disturbances can hinder the enjoyment of any performance. Out of the consideration and safety of performers and fellow patrons, the use of cell phones is strictly forbidden during all shows. This includes the use of phones for texting or photographic purposes. Individuals caught using their cell phones may be asked to leave the theatre.
