These occasions set a stage for Kannada people to meet others of their own community and network.
They also provide an opportunity for the children who are brought up here to inculcate many values these festivals bring along with them.
Parents get an opportunity to involve themselves and their children in various KK activities and expose their children to the rich culture and traditions of Karnataka.
The youth wing of KK has spawned whole new activities aimed at developing awareness of places in Karnataka, its culture among the youth of Kannada community in Northern California.
The grand plans of youth wing is an example of KK's widening scope of objectives.
KK's library houses many great works of Kannada poets, writers and novelists. Apart from cultural get together, KK has its fun part also. The yearly picnic and sports day are the times for fun and games. They provide break from sluggish winter. The day is also a test of physical fitness and fun. Members get to participate in various games and avoid low fat food for a day.
