Why this matchup matters

Ranked No. 4 in the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25, Grayson is the defending Georgia AAAAAA state champion and a program known for producing college and NFL talent — including Wayne Gallman and Robert Nkemdiche. Collins Hill, coming off an 11-win season and ranked No. 56 in MaxPreps’ expanded Top 100, is a program with a rich tradition and is the high school home of 2024 Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.

Grayson returns a loaded roster. Senior quarterback Travis Burgess (North Carolina commit) threw 23 touchdowns against four interceptions in 2024. Defensively, five-star Texas commit Tyler Atkinson returns after a season in which he recorded 166 tackles and 13 sacks and earned MaxPreps National Junior of the Year honors. When these teams met last November in the third round of the playoffs, Atkinson recorded 13 tackles and two sacks in Grayson’s 38–14 win.
