About this Venue

Our mission

Our mission at Altman MS 172 is to make this school the educational center of this community. We envision the parents, teachers, administrators and community organizations working together to provide a safe and secure educational environment to ensure that all of our children meet and exceed the standards in all subject areas.

Special Programs

Media studies (audio, video, print, music, fine art), multimedia lab (video production studio, publishing center). Classes in video prod., science explorers, school newspaper, AIS instruction for at-risk students, Desktop Publishing.

Extracurricular Activities

Calligraphy, Chess Club, Computer, Crafts, Creative Writing, Debate & Math teams, Peer Mediation, Regents Review, Newspaper, Sewing, Small Animal Care, Co-Ed Softball, Volleyball, Basketball teams for boys and girls.

Suite & VIP parking there is located on the south side of the building via the 2nd 183A Entrance, past the marquee.
