Silicon Valley Sarbojonin Inc details

Silicon Valley Sarbojonin Inc. is a community-driven nonprofit organization based in the San Francisco Bay Area, dedicated to promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of Bengal. Its mission encompasses charitable, religious, literary, and educational activities, with a particular emphasis on fostering unity and harmony among diverse communities.

The organization is best known for hosting the annual Durgotsav, a vibrant Durga Puja celebration that invites participation from individuals of all backgrounds. Unlike traditional "ghoroa pujos" (family-style celebrations), Silicon Valley Sarbojonin's approach is rooted in the Bengali tradition of Sarbojonin Pujo, meaning "for all by all." This inclusive model encourages active involvement from the community, making each participant a vital part of the event.

The 9th Annual Durgotsav is scheduled for October 4–5, 2025, at Newark Junior High School, 6201 Lafayette Avenue, Newark, CA 94560. The event promises a blend of religious rituals, cultural performances, and community engagement, aiming to create a "Feel-Good Durga Puja" experience. The organizers emphasize that while the event may not have a large budget, the collective heart and spirit of the community will make it special.
