Event Details Chinese Mirch will celebrate Diwali this November at four locations, with exciting performances, giveaways and a special menu of traditional Indian festival treats. Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, is a five day long event celebrated between mid-October and mid-November. It is one of the most important festivals of the year for the Indian community. Diwali commemorates the return of Lord Rama from his 14-year exile and vanquishing of demon-king Ravana. Celebrations take place in homes and temples, from coast to coast, this month – it is like the Hindu Christmas. Chinese Mirch New York will feature complimentary henna tattoos at dinner November 15th, 16th and 17th. They will also be raffling off $50 Chinese Mirch gift cards every night from November 13th till the 18th. Chinese Mirch Framingham will feature Somen and Lopa Band performing Bollywood hits November 9th, 16th and 17th, along with a special menu consisting of; Bhel, Dahl Bhalla, Chatpata Corn and Rabri. Chinese Mirch Stamford will offer their regular menu along with their “Chaatwaali Galli.” This will include Panipuri, Pav Bhajl, Qubani ka meetha with vanilla ice cream, Szechuan Bhel, Mithai Wonton and Meetha Pan. Chinese Mirch North Brunswick will offer a royal Diwali buffet spread November 17th and 18th at $19.99 a person. During the week of November 13th through 17th, both the Lexington Ave New York location and the North Brunswick,NJ location will be donating a dollar, for each person who dines, to the Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief.
