About this Venue
Insurance Requirements
Every licensee holding an event at the George R. Brown Convention Center is required to
provide an insurance certificate to Houston First Corporation. A due date for submission is
stated in each contract, although it is recommended that the following summary of the types and
amounts of coverage required be submitted to the appropriate insurance representative as soon
as possible:
1) Commercial General Liability, including contractual liability, bodily injury or death, property
damage, and personal/advertising injury with limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and a
$2,000,000 aggregate.
2) Automobile Liability, if the premises licensed for the event includes one or more exhibit
halls. Coverage must include owned, hired and non-owned vehicles with a combined single limit
of $1,000,000.
3) Workers’ Compensation in the statutory amount.
4) Employer’s Liability with limits of $1,000,000 for each accident, disease limits of $1,000,000
per policy and $1,000,000 per employee.
5) Additional Insured endorsement including both Houston First Corporation and the City of
Houston.
6) Waiver of Subrogation endorsement is required in favor of Houston First Corporation and
the City of Houston.
