One of two new theatres opened by the Santa Clara Unified School District in 2005, the Mission City Center for Performing Arts is a joint venture with the City of Santa Clara. Wilcox Stage Company, Santa Clara Ballet, and Mission City Opera are just a few of the local performing organizations that have recently called the Mission City Center for Performing Arts home. Patrons may enjoy performances in either the Main Stage or the flexible Marilyn Rea Hall. All seating in the intimate 360-seat Main Stage is at orchestra level. The stage depth is 30' from proscenium to back wall with an 8' motorized orchestra pit that can act as a stage apron. The proscenium opening can be varied from 37' to 50' allowing for maximum flexibility in performance spaces. The Marilyn Rea Hall is a 60' by 35' flexible performance space ideal for small or experimental performances. Both the Main Stage and Marilyn Rea Hall are accessed through a spacious lobby; plenty of onsite parking is available. Located adjacent to Wilcox High School at 3250 Monroe Street at the corner of Monroe and Calabazas Avenue, Mission City Center for Performing Arts offers convenient access to San Tomas, Lawrence, and Central Expressways and is less than 2 miles from U.S. 101.
