Meditation is the state of 'thoughtless awareness' during which excessive stress producing activity of the mind is neutralized without reducing alertness and effectiveness. Once the mind is free of thoughts, we live in the present moment, are free of reactions and remain calm in tense situations. Incidents that have happened in the past do not disturb us and anxieties coming from the unknown future stop stressing us out. This state is achieved by using our own nourishing energy present at the bottom of our spine in the 'sacrum bone' known as Kundalini.
Yoga, though commonly associated with post-uric exercises, means 'union' or 'connection'. Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple technique to establish the 'connection or 'union' of our own energy with 'nature' or 'all pervading and ever-present living force', thereby learning to live in harmony with our environment and achieving a state of balance, within ourselves and with nature.
About the Class
All meditation classes try to provide a deep meditation experience using simple techniques coupled with audio or video. Most of the sessions consist of 2 or 3 parts where we check the state of our subtle system (or energies) before and after each session to see where the system is imbalanced and how it changed over the session.
No special clothing or floor mats are required. Participants sit on chairs and follow simple instructions which help to deepen the meditation experience.
