Event Details Carnatic Music Concert by Sangeetha Sivakumar (Vocal), HN Bhaskar (Violin) and Poongulam Subramanian (Mridangam).Presented by ananda bhairavi and India Initiative - Georgetown University. As a vocalist, Sangeetha Sivakumar has excellent command over the technical aspects of Carnatic music and a great capacity for creativity. She has a mellifluous, resonant voice and her music is known for its crispness, clarity of thought and presentation. Ms Sivakumar is among the most respected musicians in the field of Carnatic music, performing for over thirty years. She sings in the style of the legendary G N Balasubramaniam (GNB Bani) and was trained by Smt Charumathi Ramachandran. Sangeetha Sivakumar is also very involved in community initiatives with her husband, the musician TM Krishna to spread the reach of Carnatic music to children in communities not traditionally connected with the art. She has started and is involved in many organizations whose work is spread across the whole spectrum of music and culture.
