About this Venue

Irving Public Library (IPL) serves a forward-thinking and diverse city, named the first municipality to win the Texas Award for Performance Excellence in 2011. The library’s vision is to be a center of the community, improving the quality of life of Irving residents through community engagement, educational events and advanced technology. Currently the system consists of one central library and three satellite branches in the north, west and east areas of town. IPL is also sustained by a vibrant Friends group that supports literacy in the community through many philanthropic projects. Irving regularly works with national organizations and retailers, cultural societies, private businesses and nearby schools to present community events, award-winning author panels and exhibits.

Today the system boasts four modern community centers with state-of-the-art offerings that draw people to the area, a far cry from Irving’s first library, set up in the corner of a furniture store in 1941. The Gold LEED certified West Irving Library opened in 2011, marking a new era of capital improvements for Irving’s libraries. Valley Ranch Library underwent a 5,000 square-foot expansion in early 2014. When the South Irving Library is complete in 2015, it will replace the Central Library in providing literary events and high-tech educational services to Irving’s youth. In 2016, East Branch will celebrate twenty years of changing lives and community revitalization with ongoing enhancements.

Looking into the future, the library will continue to partner with the Friends to broaden its scope of services. The system will welcome the Silver LEED certified, high-tech South Irving Library in early 2015. In the spring, IPL will launch the region’s first North Texas Teen Book Festival and in the fall, host the city’s tenth annual Big Read celebration.

What are the parking options at VALLEY RANCH LIBRARY?

Parking is available in Lots A, B, F, G, H & I. Prices range from $5 to $30 depending on the event. Suite & VIP parking there is located on the south side of the building via the 2nd 183A Entrance, past the marquee. All methods of payment are accepted at VALLEY RANCH LIBRARY for all self-park & valet lots.
When is the box office open in VALLEY RANCH LIBRARY?

Regular Hours - Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, weekend hours vary per event. For event box office hours, please visit VALLEY RANCH LIBRARY event tickets can be purchased through Sulekha.
Are children allowed VALLEY RANCH LIBRARY?

Ticket Requirements: For all ticketed events, all VALLEY RANCH LIBRARY patrons must present a ticket for entry, except for those patrons younger than two (2) years of age. However, children under two years of age must sit on the lap of an accompanying ticket-bearing adult. For some family/kids events ages, one (1) and up must be accompanied by a ticket.

Can I get an autograph or meet the artist in VALLEY RANCH LIBRARY?

The VALLEY RANCH LIBRARY, as a rental facility, is not in a position to contact or interfere with artist or artist management regarding autographs or special meet and greet requests. From time to time, artist management will arrange these opportunities, and if available, the VALLEY RANCH LIBRARY will include that as part of standard event information.
Can I take event photos or videos in VALLEY RANCH LIBRARY?

The use of photographic or sound recording devices, including film and digital cameras, digital video recorders, cell phones, and/or other visual or audio recording devices is a violation of copyright law and is strictly prohibited. Patrons using these devices during a performance may be asked to leave the theatre. No refunds will be issued. In certain instances, patrons may be asked to delete photographs.

In addition, light and noise disturbances can hinder the enjoyment of any performance. Out of the consideration and safety of performers and fellow patrons, the use of cell phones is strictly forbidden during all shows. This includes the use of phones for texting or photographic purposes. Individuals caught using their cell phones may be asked to leave the theatre.
