ARTISTS BIOGRAPHY

Vijay Prakash: Prakash was born in Mysore, India to Carnatic artists L. Ramashesha and Lopa Mudra Prakesh, and trained in Carnatic music. He has sung for around 25 outside movies incorporating a Chinese film with music by Surender Sodhi.He is one of four artists credited for the tune, "Jai Ho", which won the 2008 Academy Award for Best Original Song. In particular, he sang the bit with the words "Jai Ho" that takes an augmented high pitch at various crossroads of the melody. The Song additionally won the 52nd "Grammy Awards" in the class "Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media.
