After leaving an indelible mark on Marathi theater in
the 1990s, the iconic feminist play 'Charchaughi' is making a celebrated return
to the stage with an all-new cast and crew. Written by Prashant Dalvi and
directed by Chandrakant Kulkarni, this thought-provoking story follows four
women charting their own unconventional paths while challenging patriarchal
norms.

'Charchaughi' shattered boundaries when it first
premiered over 30 years ago. The play fearlessly explores the deeply personal
journeys of a mother and her three daughters as they make bold life choices
guided by independent thinking. Their stories remarkably gave voice to the
universal emotional experiences of womanhood. With nuanced perspectives on
gender dynamics, 'Charchaughi' sparked powerful conversations around female
identity and autonomy.
Now this groundbreaking production is being revived
for a new generation by Jigisha. An ensemble of celebrated actors including
Rohini Hattangadi, Kadambari Kadam, Mukta Barve, Parna Pethe, Shreyas Raje,
Ninad Limaye, and Parth Ketkar will breathe fresh life into Charchaughi's compelling
narrative.
