Lohri is an eagerly awaited Punjabi
folk festival that marks the end of winter and the beginning of longer, warmer
days. This joyous occasion is nearly here - come celebrate Lohri in traditional
style with the India Center of Westchester - Punjab Chapter on January 13th!

Blazing
Bonfires & Catchy Tunes
The vibrant event kicks off at 5:30
pm at the India Center in Hawthorne. The parking lot will be dotted with huge
bonfires encircled by people singing, dancing bhangra and having the time of
their lives! Folk singers fill the air with the sounds of the dhol and other
instruments as popular Lohri songs are belted out while friends and families
gather with smiles and laughter.
Savor
Punjabi Delicacies
What's a harvest festival without
delicious food? An array of mouthwatering Punjabi snacks and sweets will be
served up fresh for attendees throughout the evening. From chickpea curry to rice
pudding, the aromatic flavors bring warmth to the cold winter night.
Show Off
Your Moves
As bonfires crackle, skilled bhangra
dancers in bright attire steal the stage with their high energy, lively
routines. The audience breaks out into adrenaline-fueled bhangra moves as well
- even first-timers can easily pick up the steps!
