Freedom, culture, unity, and celebration— these are
the words that define Swades – Celebrate 78th Indian Independence
Day, one of the biggest Indian Independence Day events in
the United States. Organized by the Association of Indo Americans (AIA)in
association with Bolly 92.3FM, this vibrant celebration is
set to take over Discovery Meadow, San Jose on Saturday,
August 9th, 2025, with a full day of desi festivities from 1:00 PM to
10:30 PM.
Whether you’re a proud first-generation immigrant or raising
second-generation Indian Americans, Swades 2025is more
than an event — it's a reminder of our shared roots, our rich heritage, and the
pride of being Indian.
A Full Day of Celebration & Cultural Pride
This FREE community festivalis open to
all and promises something for every age group. From a grand
patriotic paradeto an open-air Bollywood concert, from desi
street food to a vibrant night bazaar, every element is curated to capture the
essence of India.
Event Highlights:
Historic India Day Parade (75+ Floats):
Watch San Jose come alive with a sea of saffron, white, and
green! Over 75 colorful floats from community groups, regional associations,
and cultural organizations will showcase the spirit of unity in diversity.
Fireworks under the Stars:
Witness a spectacular fireworks showto conclude
the day on a magical note, celebrating freedom under the night sky.
Bollywood Open-Air Concert & DJ:
Groove to non-stop desi beatswith a live
DJ, cultural performances, and spontaneous dancing under the summer sky.
Guest of Honor: Srikanth Bolla – India’s Pride:
A visionary entrepreneur and motivational icon, Srikanth
Bolla’s journey is a symbol of determination and resilience. His presence will
inspire and uplift the community.
Flag Hoisting & Largest Indian Flag Walk:
Join hundreds in a powerful moment of unity as the Indian
tricolor is hoisted and carried in a symbolic walk representing freedom and
togetherness.
Vijay Bharath Cultural Showcase:
Traditional dance, music, and patriotic performances that
reflect the richness of India’s regional diversity.
Night Bazaar with 100+ Vendor Booths:
Shop from a variety of vendors offering everything from
ethnic wear and jewelry to art, crafts, and home décor.
Desi Street Food Fiesta:
Enjoy mouthwatering Indian snacks, meals, and sweets — from

serve as the Grand Marshalof the parade and headline
the celebration.
