Navratri Celebrations At The Art Of Living Los Angeles Center

Welcome to the Navaratri series of events at the LA Dome, the premier venue for spiritual events in LA. With over a hundred years of hosting meditators, the LA Dome is steeped with the essence of meditation and spiritual upliftment. Having clocked more than a million MPH (Meditation Person Hours - A measure of how many people have meditated in a space), the LA Dome is the ideal place in LA to experience meditation and chanting.

Kashiji with his background in vedic and modern science and John Osborne, our very own American Pundit will be speaking on the significance of various aspects of Navaratri.

Significance of Navaratri

'Navaratri' means 'nine nights.' 'Nava' means 'nine,’ and 'Ratri' means 'night.'

Night provides rest and rejuvenation. In the same way, Navaratri or the ‘nine nights’ is that time of the year when you get the chance to experience deep rest. This deep rest brings freedom from all kinds of botherations, deep relaxation, and creativity. Fasting, meditation, prayers, and other spiritual practices performed during this period help bring about this deep rest.

Chanting

Mantras have a powerful impact on the consciousness. When we hear some music it uplifts us, while some sounds create the opposite effect. Mantras are powerful chants that enable us to get in touch with the universal conciousness and harmonize the individual with the cosmic energy.

Sankalpa - Manifesting your Intention

Every manifestation has an intention behind it. We have many desires or intentions, however not all intentions fructífy into manifestation. The process of sankalpa is an ancient vedic technique to use the mantras to invite the energy of the universe to help strengthen and manifest our intentions.
