Shaan Rahman, born on December 30, 1979, in Thalassery, Kerala, India, is a distinguished Indian composer and singer, predominantly associated with the Malayalam film industry. His musical journey commenced with the 2008 music album "Coffee at MG Road," a collaborative effort with his friend, singer, and director Vineeth Sreenivasan. The album's success led to his debut as a music director in the 2009 film "Ee Pattanathil Bhootham," directed by Johny Antony.
Rahman's partnership with Vineeth Sreenivasan proved to be a turning point in his career. He was invited to compose music for Vineeth's directorial debut, "Malarvaadi Arts Club" (2010), marking the beginning of a series of successful collaborations. Their subsequent projects, including "Thattathin Marayathu" (2012), "Thira" (2013), "Om Shanthi Oshaana" (2014), and "Jacobinte Swargarajyam" (2016), were well-received, with Rahman's compositions playing a significant role in their success.
One of Rahman's most notable works is the song "Jimikki Kammal" from the 2017 film "Velipadinte Pusthakam." In 2023, Rahman expanded his influence in the music industry by establishing the Shaan Rahman Music Conservatory in Kochi, Kerala. On the personal front, Shaan Rahman is married to Zaira since October 11, 2009, and they have a son named Rayaan. His family includes his father, who worked for the Union Cement Company, his mother, a homemaker, a younger sister, Sherry, who is a doctor, and a brother, Shaheer, pursuing a degree in Visual Effects at ICAT.
