Vasantha Navaratri Mahotsavam

VEDA is proud to host the first ever Vasantha Navaratri Mahotsavam in Seattle! This is the grand culmination of all that VEDA stands for : religious, cultural, educational and social activities.

Religious:
We start with Ugadi day, with pachadi and Panchanga Shravanam. We also have the Rama Laksharchana with 108 couples performing Rama puja. Then, the grand Bhadrachala Seetha Rama Kalyanotsavam and Pattabishekam happen over the weekend. The weekdays feature Sundara Kaanda parayanam and on Rama Navami day, Sat Apr 13, there is a grand Rama Moola Mantra Homam and the festival ends on Tamil New Year/Vishu with Vishukkani and Panchanga Shravanam.

Cultural :
VEDA has arranged for daily cultural activities during this festival, 630pm-830pm for the entire duration. Inaugurating the event is a Kuchipudi dance by Dr. Padmaja Reddy of Pranav Institute of Kuchipudi Dance, India in collaboration with local schools; We have Bhadrachala Ramadasa Navaratrna kritis, Bharatanatyam dance performances by many local schools, Rama Bhajans, Kathakalakshebam and multiple carnatic vocal concerts by local music schools as well as professional musicians from India. Join us daily at 630pm to soak in this bliss! All events are free and donations are welcome!

Social :
We have India Culture Bazaar, a cultural and social exposition by vendors including many local vendors, vendors from other states and vendors from India. You will find handicrafts, textiles, handbags, chudis, gift articles, jewelry and Indian food that appeals to people of all ages. Then we have kids programs from arts, music, kids carnival and "spring-camp" fun! Visit the fair to get your hands on hot fashions of the day!

Community:
This is the golden opportunity for the Indian Community to come together and do good for the local area that has served us well. Bring a donation of canned food and dry items - VEDA donates over 5,000 pounds of food items to food banks every year! Do your part!
