A renowned vocalist, harmonium artist, music educator, and performer, Hitesh Master Nayak has dedicated his life to preserving and promoting the rich traditions of Hindustani classical music, Gujarati cultural music, and devotional singing. Today, he is recognized as one of the respected ambassadors of Indian music in North America.
Born and raised in Nadiad, Gujarat, Hitesh Master Nayak comes from the historic Nayak family, whose musical roots trace back several centuries. His ancestors served as royal court singers, known as Rajgayaks, for the Junagadh royal family. The family's association with classical music and royal patronage helped establish a legacy that continues through generations.
Music became part of Hitesh's life from childhood. Under the guidance of his father, Vrajlal Nayak, he began formal training at the age of three and delivered his first public performance when he was only six years old. This early exposure laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to music.
Hitesh received extensive training in Hindustani classical music from distinguished gurus including Ustad Rajankhan and Ustad Bashirkhan of the Mewati Gharana. He further refined his skills in harmonium performance under Pandit Rambaba Petiwale and Pandit Mohan Junior of Mumbai's renowned Deshi Natak Samaj.
His academic pursuit of music led him to earn a Master's Degree in Music from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in Ahmedabad, strengthening both his theoretical and practical understanding of Indian classical traditions.
