Rig/yajur Upakarma (avani Avittam)

For the year 2014, Rig/Yajur Upakarma (Avani Avittam), ceremony will be conducted on August 10 at VVGC temple located at 32 Rancho Drive, San Jose, CA-95111

For brahmacharis the following will be done: samithathanam,kamokarishith japam, brahmayagnam,noothana yagnopaveeda dharanam,kandha rishi tharpanam, vigneswara/ sri vishwakshena aaradhana pooja, varuna sahitha sri veda vyasa pooja, homa, sri veda aarmbham, aasseervadham, and theertha prasada viniyogam

For avani avittam (upakarma) please bring the following items pancha pathhira uttharani, plate, (thambalam) rice, moong dhall, jaggerry, black seasame seeds, black (ellu) till/ nalla nuvulu/ fruits, flowers, coconut, beetel leafs, beetel nuts, and prasadam for naivedhyam.

For thalai avani avittam ( 1 st year prathama sravanam vadu's please bring the following items sundal appam, and prasadam for naivedhyam

There are 4 batches for the day.

1st batch: 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM

2nd batch: 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM

3rd batch 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM

4th batch 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM

We will start the ceremony at above times. We have very few parking spots available. Please plan to carpool if you plan to attend.
