The dynamic duo of violinists has craved their own niche in an otherwise contemporary music industry in South India. They are popularly referred to as the Violin Brothers or the Fiddling Monks and have shared screen and stage space from 1972! Originally from Kanpur, Ganesh and Kumaresh found out their talent in donning musical instruments at an early age. They synchronization was a thing of beauty.
Ganesh & Kumaresh were one among the many who learnt musical instruments from their parents. It is said that Kumaresh once played a piece that even experts of the violin struggle to play even as a kid. In fact he did it as a demo for the person who was struggling after snatching the instrument from his parent! Music was in their blood as they were not even taught to hold the instrument in a way to play such high octave notes at such a small age. They had to move around with their parents and in turn settled in Chennai.
Their advent with violin and their conquests earned them many laurels even during their young age. They have been praised extensively for their talent and flair by legends like MGR and maestros like Zakir Hussain.
