Govinda Biography
Govind Arun Ahuja, also known by the stage name Govinda, was born on December 21, 1963. Having starred in more than 120 films since his 1986 debut, Govinda has made a lasting impression on Bollywood and gained a reputation as one of the most gifted actors in the business. He is well-known for his amazing dance skills and is praised for his humorous roles, which make him a unique actor in Bollywood.
Govinda's perseverance and unwavering work ethic catapulted him to success and helped him establish himself as a premier actor. Among his noteworthy partnerships are his several projects with director David Dhawan, with whom he had a fruitful 18-movie cooperation mainly focused on comedic films. Famous movies like "Shola Aur Shabnam" (1992), "Aankhen" (1993), "Raja Babu" (1994), and "Hero No. 1" (1997) were produced as a result of their cooperation.
Beyond his comedic skills, Govinda tried his hand at a variety of roles. One of his most notable performances was as a villain in the 2000 movie "Shikari," for which he received praise from critics. Govinda overcame difficulties in the early 2000s and went on to make a spectacular return with hits like "Bhagam Bhag" (2006) and "Salaam-E-Ishq" (2007), solidifying his place as one of the industry's most formidable actors.
In 2007, Govinda starred in David Dhawan's romantic comedy smash "Partner," which went on to become one of the biggest grossing movies in India that year. After this achievement, Govinda went on a creative rampage, landing a number of high-profile projects for 2008 and 2009 and participating in foreign and Indian reality shows, including the UK's "Strictly Come Dancing" and "The X Factor".
