Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is a Pakistani singer who specialises in Qawwali, a style of Sufi devotional music. His name is pronounced [t f t (l i x n)] in both Punjabi and Urdu. He was born on December 9, 1974. Khan is one of Pakistan's most popular and well-paid singers. He is the grandson of Qawwali singer Fateh Ali Khan and nephew of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, son of Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan. He performs ghazels and other light songs in addition to Qawwali. He is well-known for his work as a playback vocalist in Pakistani and Hindi movies.
Pakistani musician and vocalist Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is well known for his soulful and commanding voice. His uncle's Qawwali group, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's party, is where he started his career. He comes from a family of Qawwali singers.
