Karthik Kumar Biography
Karthik kumar also known as KK, is one of the India’s leading standup comedian originating from Chennai. After completing his engineering Karthik along with his friend Sunil Vishnu quit their respective jobs and started the event management company "Evam".
Karthik started off his acting career from Alaipayuthey, an interesting fact he was first person to audition for the role of Madhavan (karthik) in Mani ratnam’s everlasting love saga ALAIPAYUTHEY, due to his young looks and age factor he couldn’t play the part, but lately he played another role in the movie itself. After that he continued to portray a dozen plus character roles in movies down south, his role in yaaradi nee mohini was well received among Tamil audience, his role in Poi Solla Porom as uppli and in veppam as Vishnu was pulled off with much elegance doing justice to the story. Though In November 2016, Karthik expressed his regret for getting typecast in particular roles, and wrote about his "retirement" from the film industry, later he broke it off with a comeback in Mannar Vagaiyara. His roles and characters he played were much appreciated and well received by the audience in the theatre screen but when it comes to EVAM and his love for stand up his wit brought him back to his roots, back and forth, which is stand up, of course.
He has performed over 1000 shows across India, USA, UK, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. His last performance for amazon prime known as BLOOD CHUTNEY was a successful event, following that he is currently engaged in a USA tour this feb and march, called as Second Decoction 2.0.
