Mano Biography
Nagoor Babu is an Indian playback singer, voice actor, producer, television anchor, composer, and actor who goes by the stage name Mano. Mano is a well-known playback singer in the Indian cinema business; his real name is S. P. L. Selvaraj. He primarily sings in Tamil and Telugu, though he has also made recordings of songs in Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Early in the 1980s, Mano began his career and became well-known for his song "Pudhu Vellai Mazhai" from the Tamil film "Roja," which was scored by A. R. Rahman. Since then, he has worked with other well-known music composers and has recorded over 10,000 tracks.
Mano is renowned for his adaptable voice, which can handle a variety of musical styles, including folk, romantic, and devotional songs. He has received numerous honors for his services to music, including the Nandi Award and the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer.
Overall, Mano is a gifted and adaptable vocalist who, with his beautiful voice and outstanding repertoire of songs, has made a substantial contribution to the Indian cinema industry.
For Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Tulu, Konkani, and Assamese films as well as for personal use, Mano has recorded more than 24,000 songs. Additionally, he has performed live at more than 3000 events across numerous countries. He has recorded numerous tracks for the music director Ilayaraja. Since Muthu (1995), Mano has been known for being Rajinikanth’s official Telugu dubbing artist.
In 1995, Mano developed another side when he did the voice-over dubbing. as an artist in the Telugu film industry. Almost all of Rajini kanth's films had their Telugu dubbing done by him. All the producers and directors want his voice, and Rajinikanth almost came to be thought of as having only his voice. In few Telugu movies, he also provided Kamal Haasan's voice.
Mano marries Jameela in 1985. His son Shakir is an actor who has been seen in Nagana.
