Hera Mubashir

Hera is a South Asian classical vocalist based in Chicago. She is training under Ustaad Urooj Saami who inherits the traditions of the Qawwal Bacha/Delhi Gharana. Born in Karachi, Hera's music is deeply rooted in the tradition of raga with a focus on ghazal, khayal and thumri. Hera believes in nurturing community through music especially in spaces where traditional sounds are waiting to be revived, re-rooted, and shared anew.
