The most renowned Pakistani Classical singer, Hamid Ali Khan was born on 1953 at Lahore, Pakistan. The representative of Patiala gharana is an exponent of Ghazal and Classical Singing. Ustad Hamid Ali Khan has performed with lots of famous Indian artists and released several records. Hamid Ali Khan also collaborated with many UK-based artists; Fidla Hussain (harmonium) and Partha Sarathi Mukherjee (table) are the recent ones.
Being the son of Ustad Akthar Hussein Khan and the youngest brother of singers Amanat Ali Khan and Bade Fateh Ali Khan, Hamid Ali Khan learned the nuances of music from them. He is married and the father of three sons Nayab Ali Khan, Inam Ali Khan and Walli Hamid Ali Khan. They are currently following Hamid Ali Khan’s footsteps and have created their own band called RagaBoyz.
Hamid Ali Khan won the Pride of Performance Award in 2007 on collaborating with his brother, Amanat Ali Khan. Later in the year 2010, the Government of Pakistan presented him with the Sitara-i-Imtiaz Award. During his tour in India, in the year 2007, Hamid Ali Khan was presented with several Awards for Life time Achievement Award in the field of classical music.
