Anila Naz Chowdhury is a celebrated Bangladeshi singer, songwriter, and performer known for her soulful voice and modern musical style. Born on 23 November 1979 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Anila began her musical journey at an early age and trained in Nazrul Sangeet under the guidance of Hindol Sangeet Academy.
She first gained attention as part of the band Kranti, before rising to prominence through her collaborations with acclaimed music director Fuad al Muqtadir. Her duet album “Ekhon Ami” with singer Sumon became a massive hit, earning her widespread popularity across Bangladesh and among Bengali audiences worldwide.
Some of her most well-known songs include “Ke Bashi Bajay Re,” “Gaibona,” and “Shopnogulo Tomar Moto.” Her voice carries a blend of pop, rock, and melodious Bengali essence, creating a unique connection between traditional and contemporary sounds.
Beyond music, Anila is also academically accomplished, holding degrees in Computer Science from Mount Holyoke College and Tufts University in the USA. Before pursuing music full-time, she worked as a software test engineer at Microsoft.
Today, Anila continues to inspire audiences through her musical versatility, meaningful lyrics, and graceful performances. She remains one of Bangladesh’s most admired female vocalists, bridging cultures with her heartfelt artistry and global appeal.
