Atul Purohit- the face of Gujarat Folk Music Atul Purohit is synonymous with Gujarat folk music and garba. He is a classical singer and the most famous Gujarati Folk (Garba) Singer. Atul Purohit is also popular for his Sunderkand rendition, Bhajans, Ghazals and devotional songs. His songs, like Tara Vina Shyam, Vhalam Ni Vaat Kai, Jamuna Ne Kanthe, Ke Hove Hove, Tahuka Karto Jaay etc, have a big following among the pious and public in general. Atul Purohit & Garba Atul Purohit started singing folk songs at a small age and later, after graduation, he started performing in the streets of Baroda for free. Gradually, after understanding the preference of his audience, he tried his hands on sugam sangeet and devotional music. Atul Purohit trained under many masters and gradually acquired the art of stage performance and began giving live performances. His music genres include Garba, Sugam Sangeet, and Bhajans. He draws his musical influences from Folk, Hindustani classical, Sugam sangeet, Bhajan and Sufi.
