Mallar Goswami Biography
Mallar Goswami – Professional Tabla Maestro & Educator
Mallar Goswami is an accomplished tabla artist and dedicated educator from Kolkata, India, with over 20 years of teaching experience. Known for his mastery of rhythm and nuanced playing style, he has trained countless students in the rich tradition of Indian classical percussion.
A National Scholar certified by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), Delhi, Mallar is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Music from Rabindra Bharati University, further deepening his academic and artistic foundation. His bilingual fluency in Bengali and Hindi allows him to connect with a diverse range of learners.
Mallar’s teaching philosophy is rooted in personalized guidance, ensuring that each student—whether a beginner, intermediate, or advanced performer—receives tailored attention. He offers one-on-one training both online and in-person at his Naktala studio or at students’ homes, making his lessons accessible to learners of all ages.
Beyond teaching, Mallar is passionate about promoting the beauty of Indian classical music and inspiring the next generation of musicians. Students are encouraged to take advantage of his free demo class, providing a glimpse into his engaging and disciplined approach to tabla training.
