Mallika's journey began in the U.S., where she initially pursued oceanography at SUNY Geneseo. Realizing her passion lay elsewhere, she switched to English Literature and immersed herself in theatre. Upon returning to India, she trained at Drama School Mumbai (DSM), embracing physical and devised theatre techniques that deeply influenced her creative voice.
Her debut play, I Killed My Mother / It Wasn't My Fault, is a poignant exploration of generational conflict and personal identity. The narrative delves into the complexities of a young woman's tumultuous day, reflecting Mallika's ability to intertwine personal experiences with broader societal themes.
In 2025, Mallika's performance in the Gujarati comedy Wife Happy Toh Life Happy earned her the "Best Actress in Comedy" award at the Janmabhoomi Gujarati Awards, underscoring her versatility and comedic talent.
